Omecha Church and Hope Orphanage are in Napak Village, Amilmil Parish, Kuju Subcounty in the Amuria District of the Eastern Region of Uganda. Omecha Church is a congregation of The Church of Uganda - a member of the Anglican Communion. Omecha Church is in the Soroti Diocese area. (The word "Omecha" means "a place of rescue.")

Amuria, the larger town in the area is about 23 miles (36.5 kilometres) by road north of the city of Soroti and about 203 miles (327 kilometres) by road northeast of Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda. (See the maps below.) The native language of Napak Village is Ateso, but the people also know English because of their schooling and since English is the official language of Uganda.

Event 4 - March 2024

After receiving a donation, Pastor Joshua said "Ray.iam now going to sit together with my church committee and we shall see the best we can use this money for." Not too long ago, Pastor Joshua had previously said that they sometimes use the church building at night for prayers and as a place for orphans to spend the night. So, he and the committee decided to buy a simple solar lighting system, consisting of three lights for inside the church building. (See the images and video of the simple d.light D100 Solar System, setting up the lights, and the celebration.)

Pastor Joshua wrote the following about the March 2024 gift:
"Hello brother Ray thank you so much for the great support that you helped us with, I was able to buy 3 hyme books, a solar system, for the church,
we have been facing lots of challenges when it comes to night hours we have not been having light in the church, I was again able to buy a carpet for other people to sit on from church and also to sleep on it when it comes to night hours we have not been having where to sleep but we thank God for your prayers and your support.may the grace of God knowledge and wisdom always be with you and your family forever more."

Pastor Joshua also used part of the gift to help with the admission and tuition fees for a high school student there.
(He sent photos of the documents with the student's name and very recent receipt stamp from the school.)

Especially note the video below showing church members saying a prayer of thanksgiving, putting up the lights, and singing in celebration!
